We’re now looking for a Non-Executive Director (NED) to join our Board and Chair the Major Projects Committee (MPC) to steer the strategic direction, ensuring we develop good, affordable homes for a better life – while also delivering on our ambitious sustainability and decarbonisation goals.

More about the role
We’re looking for a forward-thinking and experienced individual with a strong background in housing development, strategic asset management and place-making. While you’ll need a strong sense of commercial value, much of this role is about delivering social and environmental outcomes for communities.
Our new Chair of MPC will:
Lead SNG’s ambitious and sector-leading development agenda, ensuring the strategic alignment of major projects while maintaining high standards of governance, compliance, and performance
Act as a trusted advisor and mentor to stakeholders, while fostering collaboration and coordination between the Board and Executive team to ensure joined-up, strategic thinking
Provide valuable insights to help drive the group’s long-term vision of creating sustainable homes and thriving communities
Uphold integrity, accountability, inclusivity and excellence by ensuring high standards of governance, risk scrutiny and due diligence
Champion SNG’s Mission as ambassador for the organisation, strengthening external relationships and advocating for its achievements

Deliver on our ambitious sustainability goals, including retrofitting and decarbonising homes to meet strong environmental standards

Enhance customer experience by investing in new processes to empower residents to influence and co-create services – including in areas such as employment, digital access and financial wellbeing

Strengthen its financial position to become more resilient and to be able to navigate challenges in the supply chain and wider economy, while still delivering on social housing and community initiative

Show leadership in the sector, taking an innovative and bold approach to addressing housing challenges.
